Dear Parents and Guardians
I am writing to remind you of the Pyramid Concert on 23 Feb 2012, at 7:00 PM. This will be the first concert in the newly completed auditorium. You will enter in the same way as before, but continue along the hallway to the first corridor on the left. The auditorium box office and entrance are then on your left. The orchestras of Arlington Traditional School, Williamsburg and Swanson will be our guests. Details of the program are on the website.
The concert will provide an excellent opportunity to hear the full spectrum of orchestral education in the Arlington Public Schools.
There will be a required after-school rehearsal on 21 Feb 2012, from 3:15 to 4:30 PM. If there is a valid reason why your student is unable to attend, please notify me by letter or email before the day of the rehearsal.
On the 23rd the Orchestras will need to report to the Orchestra Room at 6:15 PM, for tuning and warm-up. The other schools will gather in the Band and Chorus Rooms. Our students will sit in the audience while the other Orchestras are on-stage, unless they are helping the guest orchestras.
The usual concert dress will be required:
Gentlemen of the Orchestra: Black Tuxedo, White Shirt, Black Bow-tie and Cummerbund, Black Dress Shoes.
Ladies of the Orchestra: All Black, Neutral Hose, Black or Dark Shoes, no short skirts. No trainers or athletic shoes of any kind.
